Easy and Eco-Friendly Lunchtime Bags and Accessories

0

At the beginning of this year, we officially moved S from a half-day pre-kindergarten program to a full-day, five days a week pre-k student, which means she gets to eat lunch at school with all of her friends (SUCH a big girl!) and that also means we have two kids that we have to prepare lunch for in the mornings.  Although, the choices haven’t changed much throughout the years in our family. Our girls can usually count on: cinnamon raisin bread with cream cheese, mac ‘n cheese, turkey and cheese with mayo sandwich, and since our trip to Paris, we’ve had…

Product Review: JCPenney’s Linden Street Create Your Own Kids Desk

2

About a year ago, we bought O her big girl desk from JCPenney.com. I gave rave reviews for their Linden Street Create Your Own Desk and I have to say that a year later, the desk and storage units have definitely held up. We are now in the market for making her bedroom into an even bigger-girl bedroom (bunk bed?  Lower bed with trundle for sleepovers? Not sure yet…), and will definitely look at JCPenney.com for options. So, just wanted to reiterate the value in this desk set and also that the Linden Street desk set is again on SALE.…

Product Review: Fit Flop Sandals

0

Like many New York City families, we have a rule that we take off our shoes before we enter our apartment.  There are many reasons why some people to do this: whether its cultural, cleanliness or clamoring to shed the outside world once you get home.  Our reason is simple:  our little girls play on our floor, they draw on our floor (well not directly on it), they put puzzles together on the floor, they tumble on the floor and when they are really really tired, they just lie on the floor. For many years, I went barefoot once I…

Product Review: Kushyfoot Socks at Duane Reade

0

I was not compensated for this post. All opinions and recommendations expressed herein are my own. My newest obsession isn’t sexy or fashionable, but it’s comfortable and you can find it basically on every corner.  It’s the Kushyfoot sock and you can find the Kushyfoot collection at every Duane Read – and if you live in the NYC’s Financial District, there’s eight Duane Reade’s south of Fulton and east of Broadway. I bought my first pair of Kushyfoot socks and tights about a month ago. I wanted to wear a dress the next week at work, but did not have…

Product Review: JCPenney’s Linden Street Create Your Own Kids Desk

6

When our eldest daughter turned 7 earlier this summer, we decided that it was time to change her room into a Big Birl Room.  I searched online for an affordable kids desk – one that wouldn’t fall apart next year, but wasn’t so expensive that it cost more than the furniture in my bedroom.  I searched on Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Ikea, Target, and finally, JCPenney. JCPenney has an extensive kids/teens furniture selection – at great prices – they’re about $1000-$1500 less than the Pottery Barn Kids versions.  After a long time of searching, I settled on the…

Trying to Read (again) Eat Pray Love

2

I started Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert in the Summer of 2007, when I was on bedrest for 8 weeks with our #2.  I started it, decided Liz was way too whiny for my taste, and I put the book down after page 56.  After three years, and in between grad school semesters, I decided to pick up Eat Pray Love again and give it another try, especially with the movie coming up (In general, I try to read the book before watching the movie), and I really want to see the move – if anything, it’ll be a visual…

Warm Clothes at Tent and Trails on Park Place!

0

Now that we’ve become fans of a winter sport (ice skating – read below), we’ve had to find some warm clothes – fast.  We usually get our warm weather gear from Lands End,  so we were set with warm coats, mittens and even snow pants, but from what I remember from skiing, you need a good pair of warm socks to help keep you going for hours either in the ice skating rink or on the ski slopes. Olivia and I first went to Modell’s on Broadway – no such luck.  I asked my husband if there was any place…
