Product Review: JCPenney’s Linden Street Create Your Own Kids Desk

2

About a year ago, we bought O her big girl desk from JCPenney.com. I gave rave reviews for their Linden Street Create Your Own Desk and I have to say that a year later, the desk and storage units have definitely held up. We are now in the market for making her bedroom into an even bigger-girl bedroom (bunk bed?  Lower bed with trundle for sleepovers? Not sure yet…), and will definitely look at JCPenney.com for options. So, just wanted to reiterate the value in this desk set and also that the Linden Street desk set is again on SALE.…

Goodbye iPad! I Am Loving My New Hewlett-Packard Mini HP

0

Last week, I got home  and set up my new Hewlett-Packard Mini HP that I got from our local Verizon store.  Long story short: I am loving it this cute little computer!!  Why?  Here’s just a few reasons: It can go wherever I want it to go! The way our desk top is set up in our apartment, I have my back to everyone.  With the Mini HP, I can be sitting on the couch and be somewhat “involved”  while still being “on” – as much as you can be while still being on a computer of sorts; I can actually…

Product Review: JCPenney’s Linden Street Create Your Own Kids Desk

6

When our eldest daughter turned 7 earlier this summer, we decided that it was time to change her room into a Big Birl Room.  I searched online for an affordable kids desk – one that wouldn’t fall apart next year, but wasn’t so expensive that it cost more than the furniture in my bedroom.  I searched on Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Ikea, Target, and finally, JCPenney. JCPenney has an extensive kids/teens furniture selection – at great prices – they’re about $1000-$1500 less than the Pottery Barn Kids versions.  After a long time of searching, I settled on the…

Trying to Read (again) Eat Pray Love

2

I started Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert in the Summer of 2007, when I was on bedrest for 8 weeks with our #2.  I started it, decided Liz was way too whiny for my taste, and I put the book down after page 56.  After three years, and in between grad school semesters, I decided to pick up Eat Pray Love again and give it another try, especially with the movie coming up (In general, I try to read the book before watching the movie), and I really want to see the move – if anything, it’ll be a visual…

Don’t Judge me Because iDon’t have an iPhone

3

The only reason why iDon’t is because I really use my cell phone just for that: a phone. I’ve experienced enough dropped conversations with people who have the iPhone that buying one just for the coolness factor makes me…well…not want to be cool. So, need to know everyone’s thoughts on the new Verizon Droid…Positive, Negative? You’ve got the power of Google, the power of 3G, and the power of Verizon. There has to be a catch. So all of you, help me get a Smart Phone. And one that is actually that: a PHONE. xo Triple Threat Mommy {I was…

Let Me Be Clear: Get Window Guards!

0

It’s been over 9 weeks since our two-year old fell out of a two-story window from a house that we rented down at the Jersey Shore. The police said that her fall was about 18 feet high, and she landed on concrete. The miracle of all miracles happened, though. Little S came away with only a broken femur. No internal bleeding, no head trauma, no major injuries to her internal organs. Truly a miracle, the ER doctor says as he comes out of the MRI room. How it all happened was a blur. The bottom line is that although we…

Just Call Me Top Chef

I have to give myself a pat on the back. I bought groceries at Whole Foods with hardly a melt-down from Sydney and with the food I bought, I was able to cook and plan dinner for Sunday night and Monday night – and possibly the rest of the week. I made two dishes: one that actually came from Disney.com called an Almost Lasagna Recipe and my mom’s tried and true chicken cutlet dish that was marinated overnight in “America’s Choice Italian Dressing”. For Sunday Night, The Almost Lasagna was a hit – and I made good use of the…
