Last week, I graduated with my Master’s of Science in Integrated Marketing from New York University. The graduation cap and gown, possibly the most expensive polyester outfit I had received,  was…well…violet. Violet is NYU’s color, but boy, did the gown have a lot of it.

When I told my mom what color the gown was, she asked, “Oh boy, what are you going to wear UNDER the gown?” Thankfully, I had beautiful, classic and timeless accessories from Lauren by Ralph Lauren to help me out on my big day.

I wore a navy dress that I purchased last year that has a modern silhouette and I knew it would be comfortable under the violet gown. I updated my look with accessories from Lauren by Ralph Lauren’s summer accessories collection.

I carried a Lauren by Ralph Lauren Newbury Handbag (similar here)  which has bold eye-catching gold accents. On my feet, I wore the Lauren by Ralph Lauren Salem Striped Canvas Espadrille which worked really well with my dress and the violet gown.

Of course, I painted my toes a nice shade of NYU Violet — actually its by Essie nail polish called “Playdate” – a nice soft shade of purple.

All totally perfect for a perfect day.
