I’m a little late to the gel manicure party. Gel manicures have been around for several years and I had only gotten my first gel manicure about 4 weeks ago. I normally never wear color polish on my nails; I like a clear polish for a clean but very understated look. But, I wanted to change things up and went to get a gel manicure.
I picked out a Lucky Magazine to guide me through the hottest nail colors for the winter. Lucky told me to go towards the deep wine colors, so I chose a burgundy called “Masquerade” – and with the help of my fellow Instagram followers, they told me how to make your gel manicure last longer. Below are their tips and the products I used.
1. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize Your Cuticles and Nails
2. Don’t forget about moisturizing your hands, too!
Nivea Creme Travel Sized Tin, 1 oz This is a great purchase ($0.99) at your local drugstore (I bought it at Duane Reade). And it’s perfect to keep in your purse. It’s rich and creamy and soaks right into your cuticles.
3. Wear dishwashing gloves!
