New York Aquarium Celebrates World Oceans Day

It’s finally summer and that means many family trips to the beach both near and far. We are planning on hitting beaches in Turks & Caicos, Long Island and the Jersey Shore this summer. Although the beach and ocean is there for us to enjoy, swim in, get tans near, many people around the world depend on a healthy, clean ocean to survive. June 8th is the official United Nation’s-designated day to celebrate the ocean, its importance in our lives and how we can protect it.

6 Reasons Why We Should ALWAYS Celebrate World Ocean’s Day?

Our ocean:

1. Generates most of the oxygen we breath

2. Helps feed us

3. Regulates our climate

4. Cleans the water we drink

5. Offers us a collection of potential medicines

6. Provides us unlimited inspiration

The New York Aquarium is celebrating World Oceans Day this weekend, June 7th and 8th with the help of the Bubble Guppies and  with ocean-themed events and kid-friendly activities:

We recently visited the New York Aquarium for the very first time a few weeks ago (on a cold and rainy day!) and we had such a fun time looking at all the fish, learning about reefs and watching the sea life, especially the sea otters. The exhibits were beautiful to look at,  extremely educational, and entertaining enough for both our 10-year old and 6-year old to understand.
