The Perfect Skinny Jeans for Girls

Unlike moms everywhere, I actually don’t do my back-to-school shopping before school starts. I do it a few weeks after school has started. The reason? It’s usually warm here in New York City when school starts, so our girls end up wearing their summer clothes which they are perfectly fine with. But once the weather starts to get cooler, that’s when I start kicking the back-to-school shopping into high gear.

The one thing that I always end up shopping for is The Perfect Skinny Jeans for girls. This fall, to my delight, it didn’t take me too long to find the perfect ones! My girls are on the skinny side, so to find one that is affordable, fits and comfortable is always a challenge.  So, to save you from doing any research….

Here are my Top 2 Perfect Skinny Jeans for Girls:

1. UNIQLO GIRLS SKINNY FIT JEANS.

When I was in SoHo last week, I decided to pop into the Uniqlo store on Broadway and have a look at their kids collection. As luck would have it, they had many sizes available in their Girls Skinny Fit Jeans in Grey. I had to size down (a lot) for both. For our 9-year-old, I bought both a size 7-8 and a 5-6 for her to try on at home. For our 5-year-old, I bought a 3-4 and a 2-3. The one that fit the best? The smaller size for both. Uniqlo’s skinny fit jeans are 98% cotton, 2% spandex, have ankle side zippers and come with the oh-so-important adjustable waistband.

2. OLD NAVY’S SUPER SKINNY JEANS

O is super skinny and so finding jeans that fit her just right is problematic. After I went to Uniqlo, I walked across the street to Old Navy to check out their assortment. They have this style called the “Super Skinny Jean”, picked up a size 7 in the Dark Wash, and knew right away that it would fit her. When I got home, she put it on and literally  gasped and said, “They fit!!!” They are a Cotton/Poly/Spandex blend and come with the adjustable waistband.

I have found a third style which I found on The Gap’s website under the girls “Slim Styles” category which is their Super Skinny Jean and their Legging Jeans, but I haven’t bought them yet for the girls to try on. If they need more, I’m sure I’ll be purchasing them. When I do, I’ll let you know. For now, we think Uniqlo’s and Old Navy’s Skinny Jean styles are PERFECT.
