Wearing Cargo Pants and Leather Accessories

Wearing cargo pants is a wearable trend that I am sporting this spring and summer. Like the camouflage pant, I love wearing it a bit on the skinny side and a bit of hardware for some hard, but feminine touches. These are from Zara   — probably one of my favorite stores  — and I can’t tell you how EXCITED I AM that ZARA is opening up a store in the Financial District, only two blocks away from our apartment. You don’t even know the excitement I am feeling just thinking about it. I’ll be walking passed the Zara store every day I walk the girls to school. It’s going to be dangerous. But I digress. This post contains affiliate links to help you shop easily!

Although super-skinny, these Zara cargo pants, from their Premium Denim line were only about $78 and they are super-stretchy and super-lightweight which means they are very comfortable even in the summer. They don’t seem to have the exact pair anymore (their product turnover is so fast!) but here’s one from Joe’s Jeans Cargo Skinny Pants.

I wore them with my favorite LABEL+thread Mixed Media Top  which comes in this Nude color, which works so well with the olive green cargo pants.

I like to wear my skinny cargo pants with my  Faryl Robin Leather Cut-out Shooties (that’s right the shoe + bootie combination) perfect for the warm weather. I found these at Anthropologie, and they still have a good deal on them. The best part? They are actually comfortable! I actually walk in these in New York City!

My other accessory? This embossed leather bag. You know you want it, but I hate to break it to you. It was a vintage find in Tucson, Arizona about 14 years ago. My husband actually saw it in a vintage store and suggested I buy it. That’s right. He found it. And he wanted me to buy it. (It was only $22 (!!!!!) so that probably had a lot to do with it.) But I found one from Macy’s that’s, not $22, but it is by Lauren Ralph Lauren Lanesborough Convertible Satchel.

When my grandmother died several years ago, she had left me some money and I purchased a pair of diamond stud earrings. I knew I wanted to invest some of the money I was given on quality jewelry that I knew I could pass down to my children. So, rarely do I ever take off my diamond studs, but when I won these Raw Amethyst earrings beauties from Talking Tree Designs at Women’s Travel Fest earlier this spring, I knew that they would work perfectly with this outfit.

These earrings are handmade hoops featuring natural amethyst crystals and no two are exactly alike! And I never knew this, but the Amethyst’s metaphysical properties are: protection, purification, divine connection and the release from addictions. (Shopping addictions??) Maybe I should be wearing them more often…
