We are very big beach people. We enjoy being in the sun, sand and water. Even though we are very thorough with our sunscreen, we should take extra precaution when we are out in the sun. This year, we’ve taken a two trips that really warranted extra sun protection: a trip to Turks and Caicos and our yearly trip to the Jersey Shore. Coolibar was gracious to outfit my family so that we had the highest protection under the sun.
I wore Coolibar’s ZnO Sun Wrap in Eco Green. The wrap is made from their highly breathable SUNTECT® fabric (cotton/viscose from bamboo/spandex blend) that offers a guaranteed Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of 50+ for the life of the garment, which means it blocks out 98% of UVA and UVB rays. In Turks and Caicos, it was super-hot, but the wrap kept me protected without making me sweaty at all. At the shore, it kept me warm when we had a windy beach day. It’s even something you can wear off the beach.
The Hubby wore their short-sleeve swim shirt made from the aqua SUNTECT® fabric which was super-light weight and stretchy. He has fair skin, so this really helped protect him under the hot sun.
To our delight, Coolibar also has kids clothing! My daughter was initially not into wearing a shirt in the water, but once she put it on, she wouldn’t take it off! The short sleeve swim shirt with rash guard has a higher neck and longer back for extra protection. She loved it because she thought she looked “really cool” in it.
Initially, I never thought I’d be wearing a beach hat with a 7″ brim, but now that I’m in my (ahem) 40’s — plus I use Retin-A (more on that in another post) — I have to protect my skin as much as I can. Being out at the beach for several hours can really harm your skin, so I was thankful to have received Coolibar’s Beach Sun Hat as part of the giveaway at an event I attended. I’ve worn it non-stop.
