About a week and a half ago, I got a tweet from @MaxwellsNYC asking if I wanted to paint their windows. I have to admit, I was a bit intrigued. I knew Maxwell’s, because they are in our downtown neighborhood and I had no idea what they meant about “painting their windows.” After speaking to Nicole, the wife of one of the co-owners, Michael, I learned that they needed someone to paint a sign on their window to advertise their Happy Hour to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. OK. NOW I GET IT.
With breast cancer prevalent in my family, it is a cause that I am proud to support. Let’s just put it out there: I am not a painter or an artist. The night before the family and I were to paint the window, I was totally stressing because I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. We spent the night preparing: O (the true artist of the family) researched pink ribbon designs; we sketched out our plan on a piece of graph paper; and researched how to paint on glass windows. The next day we took out our paint brushes and got to work. Below is the fruit of our labor. We are darn proud of it. And even more proud to spread the news of Maxwell’s Happy Hour to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Below pics are the “Behind-the-Scenes” of our morning of painting. Pretty good, huh??
In the end, we felt good to be a part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, in our downtown New York City way — and we loved partnering with a local business!
For more information, visit Maxwell’s NYC website. P.S. They have a great burger and brunch menu, and are super kid-friendly (the girls loved their mac & cheese and chicken tenders).
