Last week, I went to Type A Conference in Philadelphia (hashtag #TypeACon) with Lisa from Mom a la Mode. Going to any type of conference is always a fashion conundrum. You want to look stylish, yet you need to be comfortable and ready for those freezing cold conference rooms.
Since Lisa and I were waking up at the crack of dawn to catch an Amtrak train to the conference, I had to be super-comfortable, too. So, this is what I wore. I decided on my favorite knitwear company, LABEL+thread. (Disclosure: They are one of my clients – but I proudly wear their styles almost every day because of their high-quality, modern silhouettes and super-comfyness.)
I love a good dark denim, because it’s polished. And these Banana Republic ones have a ton of stretch which makes them comfortable, too!

Accessories: Downtown New York City mom, Joy Gryson’s IIIbeca Reade Street Tote | Banana Republic Nicola Platform Wedges.
The IIIbeca Reade Street Tote is now my favorite bag that I carry to all of my clients. It fits my 13″ MacBook Pro, my heavy wallet, a bottle of Kombucha and various lipsticks. It’s super-stylish and practical and I love that it’s not heavy. The wedge, although it looks scary high, Banana Republic shoes are very comfortable. I have always worn their shoes simply because they look good and they feel good. And an outfit would not be complete without a blow-out by The Dry Bar.
A lot of conferences are coming up this season. What will you be packing?
