This has become one of my go-to outfits for this spring and I know I’ll be wearing pieces of it throughout the summer. I normally am not a “print” person, and I tend to wear a lot of neutrals so a pair of camouflage pants is a perfect way for someone like me to wear something trend-right but not look like I’m trying too hard. These camouflage pants are Sancturary from Anthropologie and were more than what I would want to pay for it ($118) BUT I wear these pants at least once a week with my awesome Nike kicks or a pair of flats. So I feel like I got my money’s worth. Anthropologie does not have the pants anymore but you can find something from Kut from the Kloth Gwen Cuffed Camouflage-Print Capri Jeans at Macy’s, and at a better price.
When wearing camouflage pants, you want the look to be casual but you also want to look pulled together. I love my new kicks which are the Nike Women’s Dunk Sky Hi Print Casual Sneakers from Finish Line which are super-casual but makes you look pulled-together, plus they give you a bit of height. I love this color with a pop of purple laces. I can’t wait until it’s REALLY summer for me to wear them with a pair of shorts.
A leather handbag can dress up this outfit, but I chose a grey leather handbag which is the new neutral. It really does go with everything and the color is so fresh. My bag is from yester-year, but here’s one that is similar from MICHAEL Michael Kors ‘Large Jet Set’ Crossbody Bag.
On top, you want something fun and a bit feminine to balance out the camouflage print. As you know, I am the communications gal for my dear friends at LABEL+thread and their Mixed Media Dolman in the putty color has been my FAVE top from them this spring. I especially love that it’s not a regular tee but with some subtle, cool embellishments. I wear it with their layering tank which is also a basic that should be in everyone’s closet.
Some jewelry always adds sparkle and my Nashelle Statement Necklace that I received for Mother’s Day several years back is always a conversation piece. You don’t even know how many compliments I have received wearing that necklace!
So, if you’re looking for me — just look for me in this outfit. More than likely, I’ll be wearing it!
