Last Tuesday, the French Connection SoHo store had a fundraiser for our girls’ school’s PTA (a dad at the school is a French Connection exec i). There was a fashion show highlighting the fall/winter collection modeled by a handful of moms, dads and teachers, along with live music, a DJ and yummy food. There was a special promotion for the moms and dads who attended the event — 30% off everything in the store, plus 30% of all sales went to the PTA — two great reasons to shop for a cause!
I am on a budget, so I wanted to choose something that was under $100 at full-price. I also wanted to make sure that it was versatile: something that I could wear to work, for a girls night out or a date night. Sound impossible? The French Connection Exec’s wife was wearing this amazing top that is casual-chic, with a surprise sassiness to it. It’s the French Connection Ditton Sweatshirt, so the main part of the top and cuffs are made of a light grey sweatshirt material, but the sleeves are a sheer crepe. Talk about Laid Back Luxe!
Needless to say, I’ve worn this MANY TIMES this past week. So much so, that O asked me, “Why do you wear that shirt so much?” and I said, “Because I like it!” I paired it with my Kourtney skinny jeans from the Sears Kardashian Kollection, one of my Nine West Vintage boots and my IIIbeca Duane Street Messenger Bag by Joy Gryson.
What are you wearing to death this winter?
Oh, and a little surprise: Last spring, I was one of the “Mommy Models” featured at the French Connection fashion show fundraiser. Click on the below to see my little walk down the French Connection Runway. I’m glad this Fall I was able to relax, shop and EAT!
I participate in Monday Mingle (this week its with Bon Bon Rose Girls) and What I Wore Wednesday.
