Presenting the First Annual Triple Threat Mommy Holiday Gift Guide for 2012. Below is a list of a few of my favorite things that I have used, wanted, and/or bought and I think they would make great gifts for you or your loved one.
L.L. Bean’s Solar Emergency Weather Radio with Hand Crank: We have the version from 2001, but we didn’t use it until Hurricane Sandy, and boy were we lucky to have it. Without this hand-crank radio, we would not have had any idea what was going on during the time we had no electricity. We were able to listen to the news, Mayor Bloomberg’s press conferences and simply be connected to the world. It has an easier-to-use hand crank, digital readout, and most importantly, electronic and cellphone charging ports. $79.95
* This toothbrush really does the trick and truly gets your teeth clean. I have used mine for years and when I’ve had my twice-a-year check-up, I have always gotten rave reviews. I also love the U.V. sanitizer. In fact, I’m asking my husband for a new one this year (hint, hint!) $179.99
Initial Necklaces by Paul Smotrys of gaugenyc. I love these initials. I wrote about them for this year’s Mother’s Day Post. And I can’t say enough about them. At $80.00 a pop, this is a thoughtful, beautiful necklace that any mom would love. Get an initial representing each of the kids! EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for Triple Threat Mommy Readers: Use code THANKYOU10 to receive FREE SHIPPING on all products in their Etsy Shop. Code valid until 12/15/12.
LABEL+thread’s Double Loop Cashmere Scarf. LABEL+thread is an amazing luxury knitwear brand that has modern and effortless styling and purity of fabric and design. They use 100% cashmere, super-fine merino wools and pima cottons in their sweaters, cardigans and scarves. My fave for this year is this luxe circle that loops around you in a cloud of cashmere. Comes in three sophisticated neutral combos: grey, brown and charcoal. $195.00. EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for Triple Threat Mommy readers: Receive 20% OFF using code TTM20. Valid until 12/7/12.
Chaps Sweaters on Kohls.com: I’ve written about Chaps before and how much I adore their collections and what a great value their styles are considering the attention to detail. With faux fur and leather trim, trend-right peplum silhouettes, and cable knits, and all under $62, Chaps sweaters make the perfect gift for that fashionable someone on your list.
For your Kids:
Fashion Angels Tapefitti: At the KidzVuz TweenStas Fashion event this past week, O and I were introduced to this fun brand. I could not tear her away from the crafts table. The tape comes in various designs and can customize notebooks, journals, bracelets — really anything at all! Great for the crafts-y girl in your life! $3.99
iScream Activity Books: Also at the KidzVuz TweenStas event, another brand that has the most amazing array of Activity Books to keep your tween busy either on a holiday trip or when she’s going to sleep at night. They have different themes for each Activity Book from Lists, Fortune Tellers, Under the Sea, Fashion Journal, and a Bedtime Activity Book – and more! From $2.50 – $13.75. EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for Triple Threat Mommy Readers: Use code 12MOM10 to receive 10% OFF the ENTIRE site! Code valid 11/27/12-12/14/12.
Fleece Lined Leggings by Skeemos available at TorlyKid.com: My daughters wear leggings throughout the year, even in the depths of winter. Instead of wearing their stretch cotton leggings in the dead of winter, they’ll be warm and toasty in these fleece-lined leggings. $25.00. EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for Triple Threat Mommy Readers. Receive $5.00 off when you enter TTMHOLIDAY online or mention the code in-store! Code valid 12/1/12-12/31/12.
Chuck Close Face Book at Babesta.com: I bought this book for my artistic Tween. It is a fascinating, interactive autobiography that presents Chuck Close’s story, his art, and a discussion of the many processes he uses in the studio. The question-and-answer format is based on real kids’ inquiries about Close’s life and work, and his answers to them. Close, who is wheelchair-bound and paints with a brush strapped to his arm, discusses the severe dyslexia and face blindness he has struggled with since childhood. $18.95
PocketFrenz. Marnie and Jason Hefter are parents of children who have severe separation anxiety. They wanted to send their son to school with his “friends” (tactile wash cloths), but they always got lost or got in the way of school activities. Wishing that there was a way to have clothes with the comforts of home built-in, they created Pocket Frenz™. Pocket Frenz™ , which are stylish kids school clothes that serve a purpose. Within both pockets of every Pocket Frenz™, are multi-tactile characters that can be enjoyed solo or to be shared with friends. Marnie and Jason believe that no child should ever feel alone or be without a friend. $59.99. EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT for Triple Threat Mommy Readers: Use code FRENZ4EVA to receive 20% OFF + FREE SHIPPING on all products. Code valid until 12/20/12 or until supplies last.
